Job Summary:
The staff accountant is responsible for providing general, financial, clerical, and
administrative services as directed by the General Accounting Manager. The staff accountant will also be
responsible for the day-to-day tasks in a financial department. They are responsible for ensuring that
bookkeeping is complete and accurate, while providing and maintaining strong organizational skills and
multi-tasking abilities.
Staff Accountant Responsibilities and Duties:
• Maintain and update accounting records and files.
• Support timely monthly, quarterly, half-year, and year-end financial close, including assigned
journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, accruals, and overall maintenance of all
operational management accounts.
• Track and monitor petty cash, and daily funds to ensure compliance with company policies and
procedures.
• Maintains and monitors daily cash and deposits to ensure appropriate controls and segregation of
duties.
• Prepare special financial reports as requested by management by collecting, analyzing, and
summarizing account information and trends.
• Maintains finance related documents online and in the office.
• Administrative duties – responding to clients via email, files, and handling invoices.
• Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
• Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents
to perform annual audits.
• Assists the Senior Accountant & CFO as necessary and work to improve financial processes.
• Supports and backs up the AP/Purchasing/Payroll Specialist during vacations and absences,
maintaining strictest confidentiality.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Staff Accountant Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business accounting, or finance
• Ability and willingness to keep maintain confidentiality
• Familiarity with accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures
• Ability to adapt, prioritize, meet deadlines and organize efficiently
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel; very good with spreadsheets.
Physical requirements:
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel; and reach forward with hands and arms.
• The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Compensation: $23.60 - $30.53 per hour
